The sites listed below provide information relevant to the job search process generally. While often geared to college students, they also often contain links to job databases which also list specific legal positions.

Career Builder: One of the earlier databases with links to a large number of employers particularly in the corporate sector. Its job data base gathers positions from human resources offices throughout the nation. It is particularly good for locating corporate counsel or non-traditional positions.

The Monster Board: Links to hundreds of corporate employer profiles. The Monster Board is particularly good for researching employers in the banking and financial services industry. The Monster Board probably lists more law related positions than any other site.

National Jobs: Very generic job bank with relatively few legal positions. The site tries to concentrate on positions in the mid-west. A search using key words will reveal a few law related positions mostly with consulting firms.

The Riley Guide: A guide to researching employment opportunities on the internet by one of the nation''s foremost authorities. While geared to undergraduates, it is useful for identifying non-traditional opportunities.

MonsterTrak: A well researched generic site, Monstertrak provides excellent employer profiles with links to business, government and non-profit sites.

Internet Career Connection: Provides useful links to a variety of sites and position listings. It also links together employment agencies from throughout the southeast. Very good for non-traditional positions but limited in terms of attorney vacancies.

Kenexa: This database enables students to register and have their resumes sent directly for positions listed with the service. A great service but relatively few legal positions (mostly engineering and high tech positions).

Careers: This database contains relatively few positions itself but has links to literally hundreds of employer pages worldwide. It is somewhat difficult to navigate but the links to newspaper classifieds are particularly good.

Career Path: This site enables you to search the classified from a large number of newspapers throughout the country.

Best Jobs: While a generic jobs site, it is particularly good in listing a large number of non-traditional and law related positions.

Palidan Legal Resources: Although no specific positions are posted on this site, it has excellent links to employers and job opportunities.

Women’s Job List:  Founded in 1999, site was created specifically for employers and job seekers dedicated to diversity and inclusion.

Hot Jobs:  Basic site with job postings and career information.

Wet Feet:  Provides links to jobs and information about the companies that list the jobs.  It also includes informative guides to industries and cities.

Dice:  This site is geared to high tech positions in the computer industry but has a number of positions for attorneys primarily in the area of intellectual property.  This database is a good source of positions for lawyers interested in high tech companies.
