Community Service
One pillar upon which Mercer School of Law was
founded was that of integrity, character, and service to the greater
community. Each year, that foundation is brought to life by students
and faculty who work tirelessly in public service programs aimed
at providing relief to less fortunate constituencies in and around
Macon.
Public Interest Work
Throughout our history, students at Mercer have distinguished themselves
by the amount of service work they do in the Macon community. This
often takes the form of volunteering for local non-profit agencies,
raising money for various groups, providing services to political
groups, and many other forms of service and pro-bono work.
Students have recently provided help to such
organizations as:
- Boys and Girls Club
- City Attorney’s Office
- Coalition for Clean Air
- Georgia Justice Project
- Georgia Legal Services
- Habitat for Humanity
- Mercer’s Legal Aid Clinic
Students also regularly work with area elementary,
middle, and high schools mentoring students.
