The Mercer Legal Aid Volunteer Association seeks to promote the integrity of our communitys justice system by endeavoring to ensure that all those who require legal representation have meaningful access to it.
Benefits of Membership:
- Serve the legal profession and the legal community by providing solutions to people with real problems and limited resources.
- Develop relationships with some of Mercers best and brightest students. Our student volunteers bring experience from Mercers Law Review, Moot Court, Private Practice Law Firms, and a variety of Governmental and Public Interest Groups.
- Develop practical skills, including the ability to:
- conduct legal research
- draft memos
- interview clients
- Exposure to multiple types of law including probate, social security, contracts, disability, family law, criminal law, employment, property, landlord/tenant, and administrative law.
